Perfect weather, a good turn out and competitive bowling made the ideal combination for the Ruby Cup pairs event. With the green running quick but quite tricky on some rinks the challenge was not just beating your opponent but mastering the conditions. There were some stellar performances on display with some spectacular shots played during the afternoon. Whilst the pairings of Kevin Quirk & Caroline Whitehead and John Houseman playing with Libby Andrade came close and pushed all the way it was the old guard of Eric Maddocks and partner Clive McGreal who were the only pairing to win all 4 matches during the event who claim yet another victory in the Ruby Cup taking their haul to 6 titles in 9 seasons. Our thanks once again to past president Pam Makin for making the presentation and members who provided an excellent buffet.
