WORLD SINGLES CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

World Bowls will be hosting their World Champion of Champions event from Monday 30th October 2017 to Sunday 5th November 2017. Over the two week period the entrants, each a national champion in their own right will come together to compete for the coveted title in an attempt to join bowls immorality. A stellar field of fifty-three contenders hailing from thirty-two countries will strive for the ultimate honour at Sydney’s palatial St Johns Park Bowls Club in the 15th World Singles Champion of Champions.

Lawn Bowls Isle of Man will be represented by our respective men’s and ladies champions Clive and Bernice McGreal. Hopes are high for both our champions as this is the final event in the calendar where they are able to make a qualification standard in an attempt to claim a seat on the plane for next year’s Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia. Having both previously performed well in the event, back in 2012 for Bernice where she claimed right to play in the last Commonwealth Games, and in last year’s event for Clive where he just missed out on a play-off place, a similar or better performance should solidify their places. LBIOM wish them both all the best in the competition.
