LBIOM’s first formal club competition of the season was a first in many respects. On what was a breezy and chilly day in Onchan Pleasure Park to begin with saw a huge flock of existing members, new members and visitors to the club. The turn out was such a pleasure to see, but it caused a few minor complications for the day’s stand in competition secretary. As a result, for the first time in history, the competition was run as a triples event rather than in the traditional pairs format. Teams were drawn at random and it was the team of Phil Addy, Phil Smith and Mike Moyer who set the pace, and never looked back, as everyone else tried struggled to catch up. So, it came as no surprise that after five games of four ends each they were declared the winners. A huge thank you to all that participated, and a special thanks to our visitors, Pam from England and Gordy from Scotland, it was a pleasure to have you on our green.
