Following the disappointing news of the cancellation of the Tri-Nations Test Match and much looked forward to trip to Jersey, some of the team were determined to make the most of their new found travel opportunities off Island.

Members travelled to Norfolk, to the home of the World Indoor Bowls Championships which is operated by the PBA & World Bowls Tour, to see how they faired on the big stage. Although it was more of a social trip, there was some fierce competition and the opportunity to enter an open tournament.

With top quality opposition in the field of competitors, a number of whom solely play indoor bowls, it was a tall order to topple the competition, especially given the rinks format that was played. However, out of a staggering number of entrants, to get knocked out in the quarterfinal to the eventual winners was an achievement in its own right, and put more of a shine on a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
