This week eight bowlers travelled to Norfolk and represented the IOM at Potters, the home of the World Indoor Bowls Championships. 60 teams competed during the event and our men’s team were one of just six teams who won all four of their sectional games, gaining them automatic entry to last 16. Unfortunately for our ladies team, they were drawn to play against the men in their first match, losing in a close fought match with a difference of only two shots at the end of the game. They did go on to win their three remaining games of the pool stages however, which gained them one of the 10 remaining spots of the knockout rounds. Unfortunately the first game of the knockouts saw both our teams get eliminated. Well done to our lawn bowlers who were joined this time by Crown Green/Indoor Bowls player Mike Skelly. Ladies team – Libby Andrade, Win Kewley, Pam Makin, Dee Lewis. Men’s team – John Kewley, Mike Skelly, Mike Moyer, Phil Addy.
